My name is Joe and I love to play the bass! I play electric, fretless, and double bass. I did my undergraduate music degree at Carleton University, studying performance, theory, composition and arranging under many fine musicians and educators such as John Geggie, Deirdre Piper, James McGowan, William Echard, and Mark Ferguson, to name a few. I will be continuing with graduate studies in theory and composition.

I offer musical services in the following categories:

-Live/studio session bass. I am comfortable playing many styles including jazz, rock/pop, and various world music genres. Also available: top quality remote bass tracks recorded from my home studio.

-Composing/Arranging. I am available for commissioned compositions or arranging work. My areas of specialization include orchestral and jazz arranging, original Third Stream works, and electronic music production/sequencing.

-Leader/contractor services. I organize and lead musical ensembles in many styles for a wide variety of clients including wedding/corporate event planners, restauranteurs, and choir directors.

-Private Instruction. I offer private bass, theory, and aural training with a heavy focus on improvisation and jazz harmony.
